9/11

I wanted to document where I was and what I was doing on the morning of 9/11 so someday when I'm old and cant remember it will be written down somewhere.

I was a freshman in high school. We never turned the radio or TV on in the morning before school so I didn't know what had happened. I heard some kids on the bus talking abut airplanes crashing into buildings but I didn't pay close attention thinking it was nothing. When I got to school my friends were all acting weird but wouldn't tell me what happened. I don't think they knew what to say.

I went to my first class when the bell rang, it was world geography. The TV was on and it was then that I FINALLY saw and heard what happened. I really couldn't believe it and I remember spending a lot of time in every one of my classes talking about it and what was going to happen next.

It was really an unbelievable day. I guess it seemed strange that after learning about terrible tragedies happening in the past it was unreal to have it happen while I was there witnessing it. It was a terrible day and I'll never forget the amazing way the country came together, mourned together, and were humbled together.
