A Scare

So it seems... every time I get pregnant I always have a few problems :)
Yesterday I woke up from my nap feeling... wet. So I went into the bathroom and it looked like my water had broke. Which freaked me out since I'm only 12 weeks along. Anyway, so I called the doctor and they said the description I gave sounded like my water could have broken, but that it was super unusual for somebody this early. But they couldn't get me in that day (it was pretty late in the day) so they set me up an ultrasound appointment for the next day (today). Anyway, I spent the rest of the night laying on the couch not doing much in hopes that somehow things would be okay.
This morning I woke up about 6am and went to the bathroom and realized I was bleeding. At that point... I kind of lost hope. So I crawled back into bed and somehow fell back to sleep. When I woke up again I checked and there was no more bleeding, just a little brown colored, old blood, which signified that it was there a while before it came out. Which to me meant that the problem maybe wasn't my water breaking? I just wasn't sure. So I again... waited until appointment time finally came. The ultrasound went great. Baby is fine, heart beat of 163, with plenty of fluid around him/her. I was SO relieved. Anyway, then the tech finished checking things out and we went to meet with the doctor. The doctor said the baby looks great, but there is what they are thinking is a blood clot and probably caused the bleeding. The fluid is still confusing to us all. They aren't sure where it came from. There are a few options. 1. The placenta leaked some fluid into the uterus and then it gushed out and the placenta healed and the fluid replenished 2. It was just some fluid from in the uterus that leaked out or 3. It was an attempt at a twin pregnancy and the twin was just a gestational sac that didn't develop and finally just ruptured and is gone now. Anyway, we don't know, but everything is fine now, except I get two weeks of taking it easy (harder than it sounds when you have two kids!!!) to make sure that if the blood clot came from the placenta that it doesn't happen again.
Whew! Such a relief. The last two days have been a complete roller coaster and I am happy that it is over.

Glad to hear everything is okay; it's always scary when fluid and/or blood is involved!

You know you can call me and talk about these kinds of things, right?! I am sorry that you had to experience that. It sounds very scary. I hope you are feeling better. I'll be praying for you and the baby. Maybe this whole scare is the REAL reason that you didn't come visit. Heavenlt Father knows what's up, I tell ya! You had to be home so that you could get to a doctor!
